6 Tips for Looking Awe-Worthy

Do you know that moment when you look into the mirror and realize how perfect you are? Everything on your face is flawless, your body is perfectly sculpted and your hair is luscious, full of volume and easy to style. If that’s the case, congrats! You’re a Disney princess and we all hate you! Otherwise, you’re like the rest of us and probably don’t have a waist the size of a human being’s wrist, nor hair that always looks amazing, even underwater. Unrealistic media-induced expectations aside, you lady, are still pretty damn gorgeous. But for those who are feeling a little down, here are a few tips to help you look better than any Disney princess.

Perfect your complexion

Skincare is absolutely necessary for anyone who wants to have a clear, beautiful face, so taking some simple, basic steps is going to make a big difference. Pair skincare with makeup and you’re well on your way to a flawless, beautiful complexion. First, choose the right foundation. You can just use a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream to even out your skin tone, or you can go for a more full-coverage foundation in case you have acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Just be careful about your method of application. You don’t want it to look cakey. Aside from foundation, try strobing – this basically means using a highlighter on your cheekbones, brow bone, along your nose and Cupid’s bow. You’ll be a glowing goddess within seconds!

Fake a gorgeous glow

That glowing goddess idea got you interested, didn’t it? Can you have that radiance on your whole body? Oh yes, you absolutely can. Here’s a quick secret: mix in some liquid highlighter with your body lotion and rub it all over your legs, arms and a bit on your collarbones and chest. Feel free to admire your sexy glow as long as you like.


Tidy, clean nails and soft hands are a sign of a true lady. You don’t have to paint your nails in crazy colors to make them look good – a simple white nail polish, or the classic French manicure go with every outfit, and they make your hands look very elegant and neat.

Perfect smile

Hold your head up high and smile, gorgeous. Nothing like a happy, genuine smile to charm the pants off of everyone in the room and make you instantly more approachable. Brush and floss your teeth regularly, and don’t forget to change your toothbrush once a month to make sure bacteria doesn’t pile up. The quickest way to set on a beautiful pearly whites are dental veneers, which are thin porcelain coverings that make your teeth look straight, white and perfect. Don’t forget to take good care of your lips as well – a weekly lip scrub and a daily use of a good lip balm will make them look lush and smooth. Now go walk down the street with a big grin and sweep everyone off of their feet!  

Look pretty in pictures

Nothing can make a woman feel sexier than taking a good selfie and then staring at her own beauty. To take a good picture, it’s good to understand how angles, lighting and composition work, and to practice poses in front of the mirror. Did you think those Instagram stars are really as spontaneous and laid-back as they appear? Hell no, they know their business, and they know how to use photography to their advantage.


Don’t you just love it when people hit on you by whining about how fat, ugly and gross they are? No? Then stop doing it yourself. Even if you’re the most beautiful woman in the world, if you keep focusing on your flaws you’ll feel awful and people won’t enjoy the negative energy. Lift your chin up, pull your shoulders back, and smile. You’re beautiful, and you need to know it and own it. People will flock to you if you show them you love yourself, believe in yourself, and never let insecurities get you down.

Looking awe-worthy boils down to simply taking care of yourself and finding ways to appreciate your own beauty. Take time to pamper your body, to play with makeup, to do things that relax you. Stressing over your appearance won’t get you anywhere, but reading a book, doing yoga, or any other number of productive, self-care activities will give you the mindset that you need to accomplish all your goals.

    I recently took a set of pictures and I was just super happy with them. I suffer from low self-esteem and it’s often nice to see that you are pretty on the outside as well on the inside. I really love the other tips though and I will try them out. Thank you for sharing.
